The Dillon Yacht Club, J/24 Fleet 46 and District 18 invite all J/24 sailors to the 2008 District 18 Championships. The regatta will take place at Lake Dillon, Dillon, Colorado on August 23rd and 24th, 2008.

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the 2006-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).The regatta is open to all J/24 Class yachts as defined by the rules of the international J/24 Class Association. Participants must meet all ownership, class membership requirements. Entrants must have paid all event fees before becoming official competitors.

Racing
Courses will be windward/leeward if possible. Six races are scheduled for the regatta.
Scoring
The Low Point scoring system RRS Appendix A will be used modified such that all completed races will be scored; no throw-outs. This modifies rule A2.
Penalty System
The Scoring Penalty, rule 44.3, will apply.Awards will go to the top five finishing boats.
Inspection & Measurement
Class Rule 2.5.3 is in effect, (A measurement certificate IS required with registration). Rules 3.8.5 through 3.8.10 (Equipment to be Carried When Racing), Rules 4.1.1 through 4.1.10 (Safety Rules When Racing) must be in compliance. They must be made available upon request of the P.R.O. Boats may be checked at any time during the regatta by the race committee for compliance.Launching
Boats may be launched at the Lake Dillon public launch ramp located next to the Dillon Marina. Once launched, each boat shall remain in the water until the conclusion of the regatta unless the RC grants specific permission. Careening and dive cleaning shall not be permitted during the regatta. Trailer storage is provided in a 72-hour lot.
Other
Over early hails may be attempted by VHF radio.
Entry
Each entrant must be paid in full with the USJCA Class membership , regatta entry fees , and appropriate fleet dues. If the helmsperson is not the boat owner or there are co-helmspersons, they all must be members of the USJCA.
